 The Aces Years - 1960s is the third book in the series (#4 in its listing) to be published and it’s a unique style publication (A4 size) which charts the complete history of the club and it’s in FULL COLOUR.

 Following on from the first issue in the series ‘The Aces Years - 1970s’ (published October 25 2024), and the second book ‘The Aces Years - 1950s’ (published April 30 2025) brings back to life the enchanting and exciting times of the 1960s era, an era which saw Peter Craven, the heart throb of the Hyde Road terraces again crowned World Champion in 1962, before a little over 12 months later his tragic accident at Edinburgh riding for the Aces which cost him his life.

 Then just days after his loss, Aces crowned the season by becoming National League Champions for the first time since 1936, but the euphoria of the teams success was sadly lost in the dark shadows of Craven’s passing.

 Then in 1967 came the arrival of former Aces 40s track star Dent Oliver to manage the club and manage the club he did, building up the side with youthful potential via the newly-born Colts sides of 1968 and 1969, before the arrival in the Aces line-up of the newly crowned World Champion, New Zealander Ivan Mauger at Eastertime ‘69.

 The decade is full of great Belle Vue Aces memories not to be missed, and there was even a visit from HRH The Queen to Hyde Road in the early 60s.
