The Aces Years - 1970s

Aces legend and former World Champion Peter Collins MBE and local journalist and former assistant Sports Editor of the Stockport Express Advertiser Howard Jones, have again joined forces to bring Belle Vue fans worldwide a quite remarkable series of books on the history of arguably the sports most famous speedway club - The Belle Vue Aces.
The Aces Years - 1970s is a unique style publication (A4 size) which charts the complete history of the club during one of its most stunning eras. That of the 1970s when the club won three British League titles in a row (1970-72) and annexed three Knockout Cups too, in 1972, 1973 and 1975. Yes this was a Golden Era for the club and is told in a multitude of great photos, mainly from the stunning John Somerville Collection and many other sources.
Each book will be 168 pages with 16 of them dedicated to each year in the 1970s.
Peter Collins remarked: “Howard and l spoke about the fact some years ago that no one had really charted in depth the history of our famous club." After talking things through l gave an off the cuff remark and said, "Howard l think it’s down to you.”
