The latest issue of the acclaimed series ‘The Pocket Size History of Defunct Speedway Tracks - issue #49’ looks at the history of Aldershot Speedway from its 11 years of history between 1950-1960.
The Tongham track ran at a time when the sport was at its lowest ebb in the 1950s, and we pay tribute to two great Shot's riders of the day; Kiwi Trevor Redmond and Ivor ‘Ossie’ Powell who it has to be said was not from Australia!
We also have an ‘exclusive interview’ with a man who actually rode for the club - Eric Hockaday, now in his early 90s!
